OCEAN GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Learning Support
Your child’s teacher is the first port of call. Have a conversation with them about your child’s learning and together, devise a plan. In most cases, it will actually be the teacher contacting you to discuss the fact that they have identified an area where your child requires additional support.
We provide a wide range of learning support to our students. This includes, but is not limited to to:
– Individual Education Plans.
– Student Learning Goals.
– Additional Small Group Instruction.
– Targeted Home Learning Programs.
– Student Support Groups.
Our highly skilled teachers are experts at identifying students’ learning challenges and have a range of strategies for supporting students to overcome them. However, there are times when we need to do further investigation with the support of our Network Student Support Staff.
We have access to a range of professionals including speech pathologists, psychologists, social workers and special education consultants. If you and your child’s teacher agree that further investigation or assessment is required, the teacher will contact the assistant principal to begin the referral process.
